STARTECH-tuned Jeep Wrangler

We can say that the Jeep Wrangler is the most popular model from Chrysler Group’s Jeep off rod vehicle division. In fact, the Jeep Wrangler is considered as the America’s traditional favorite off-road vehicle and "mother of all off-road vehicles", according to some sources.

With the Wrangler’s popularity, some automotive tuners applied their exclusive engineering and automotive design talents to the vehicle. One of these is the Germany-based tuning company STARTECH. STARTECH exclusively provides professional tuning programs for Chrysler and Jeep models. The company has included a tuning program for the Jeep Wrangler.

STARTECH gave the Wrangler an exclusive appearance with its exterior design package. The STARTECH Wrangler comes with black exterior paint finish, along with other exterior features like the polished STARTECH Monostar IV 9Jx20 light-alloy 5-spoke wheels covered with size 285/50 R 20 front and rear tires, fully stainless-steel exhaust, two oval chrome tailpipes, and high-gloss stainless-steel ring.

Inside, you can see a lot of enhancements for the Jeep Wrangler. The STARTECH’s Wrangler is equipped with fully leather interiors made from Mastik leather. STARTECH upholstery adds comfortable feel on the inside along with other interior components like polished scuff plates, ergonomically shaped STARTECH sport steering wheel. Customers can also add STARTECH accessories as optional components.

At the heart of this tuned up Jeep Wrangler is a 2.8-liter common-rail turbodiesel engine. STARTECH boosted the engines performance with the STARTECH SD 4T tuning module.

This model is ready for the dirt!

Anyway, check out this blog for other updates. Time for me to look for some quality Delorean oxygen sensor on the web.

See How the Jeep Wrangler Provides Off Road Safety

Cross country and off road driving are my passions. It has been a challenge for me to take any types of terrain and I love it when I successfully crossed the border. But doing off road adventure also post hazardous things. You never know what mother nature has in store for you. Let me give you some tips.

When you are planning for an off road adventure, try to make sure that your vehicle is capable of withstanding the rough, rocky, slippery, and muddy terrains. For sure you wont try to use a 2-door sports coupe for off road driving right? Another thing is you off road vehicle should have the necessary active and passive safety equipments to minimize the risk of accidents and other car troubles.

I know exactly one off road vehicle that can take any terrain and offer the best protection for its occupants. That is the 2007 Jeep Wrangler. The 2007 Wrangler is equipped with a host of safety features for off road drivers and high performance parts.

During its release, Mike Donoughe, Vice President – Body-on-frame Product Team said: “Re-engineered and redesigned from the ground up, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler is the most capable Wrangler in its 65-year history,” said. “With more ground clearance, better wheel articulation and advanced off-road hardware, Jeep Wrangler is designed to tackle the toughest off-road obstacles.”

He noted that the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler "offers customers peace of mind with significantly more standard safety equipment than Wrangler has ever offered." He also added: “Whether on- or off-road, Jeep Wrangler provides both passive and active safety systems that enhance vehicle stability and provide the highest levels of occupant protection.”
So what are the safety features of the 2007 Jeep Wrangler? Then check this out.

* Advanced Multi-stage Air Bag System – a system that inflates with a force appropriate to the severity of an impact

* Anti-lock-braking System - offers improved steering control under extreme braking and/or slippery conditions

Some Off Road Driving Guides

Riding on a Jeep model only means one thing: OFF ROAD DRIVING!

There are lots of challenging terrains when talking about off road driving. These include sandy, muddy, and snowy roads. Although driving on these terrains are quite difficult, here are some tips from Jim Walczak of 4wheeldrive.about.com on how to handle these challenging terrains.

1. When riding through deep sand, snow or mud, deflate your tires slightly to increase the tire’s footprint and provide better traction. Deflated tires will decrease your ground clearance though. Remember to re-inflate your tires before going on-road again.

2. Use a steady momentum to carry you through. Keep your speed up and use higher gears. Don’t spin your tires, and don’t stop till you’re out of the deep sand. If your wheels start to spin, ease off the throttle just a bit and allow the tires to slow down and regain traction.

3. If you lose traction and the vehicle is barely moving, turn the steering wheel quickly from side to side in short strokes (only 1/8th turn) to allow the front tire walls to find extra grip.

4. If muddy conditions force you to drive in the ruts, know where your front wheels are pointed at all times. Your vehicle will follow the ruts, even with the wheels turned to the right or left. If you encounter a dry spot with the wheels turned, then the front wheels can regain traction and suddenly throw the vehicle out of the ruts, resulting in a loss of control and possible damage.

5. Remember that hard snow crossed in the early morning can be impassable when soft in the afternoon.

These tips not only apply when you are using Jeep off road models. I think you can also apply these guides when you are driving other SUVs like Honda models equipped with Honda water pump. LOL!
