SRT and K&N Improves the Grand Cherokee

I got this article from Auto Spectator while looking for some Jeep and BMW car cover on the web. Check it out.

Jeep brand has recently announced that it will include a new Grand Cherokee model with performance enhancements from Chrysler’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) and K&N Engineering. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will have a monstrous 6.1-liter engine under its hood.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is also enhanced by high-flow air intake system (63-1555) from K&N Engineering. The K&N high-flow air intake system allows the 6.1-liter engine of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 to have an additional 12horsepower obtained at 5000 RPM. According to K&N Engineering, they have "removed the OE air box and intake and built a larger, by diameter, intake tube to open up the breathing capacity necessary for the 6.1 liter engine to get the full amount of air it needs."

Other enhancements done by K&N Engineering include:

- K&N’s air intake design to provide excellent air filtration and lower restriction
- Large chrome top K&N high flow air filter (RF-1042) installed
- Heat shield assembly is installed into the engine bay
- K&N used one of the largest filters in stock to allow unrestricted air flow and increased dirt capacity
- K&N also incorporated a radius adapter at the entrance to the intake tube
- K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty

Jeep Reports October 2007 Sales Outside North America

Chrysler LLC’s Jeep brand continued its success outside the U.S. and North American market. The company has recently reported that it earned a 15% growth in sales in North America and 14% increase for the company’s international sales for the month of October 2007. These markets include Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, China, Brazil and Russia.

Michael Manley, Executive Vice President - International Sales, Marketing and Business Development commented: "It is important to recognize opportunities outside North America to balance the impact any one region can have on the business. Our focus on growth is not only to increase sales internationally, but also to ensure that the growth is balanced among the Company’s three brands. Our continued focus must be on developing great products that are appropriate for our markets, world-class quality and the development of the most competitive distribution channels."

Thomas Hausch, Vice President - International Sales also commented:
"The expanded portfolio for the Jeep brand has resulted in a sales increase of more than 10,000 units so far this year, and established it as the Company’s highest volume brand outside North America. Replacements for existing models, such as Grand Cherokee and Wrangler have been very well received; and this month in Morocco, we are launching the all-new Jeep Cherokee to International markets, which we believe will help the brand grow its global presence even further. Overall, with 197,000 units sold year to date, we have already surpassed the total calendar year sales for 2005, and Jeep has contributed significantly to this accomplishment."

Jeep posted 79,520 units sold outside North America, which include the new Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee as the leading vehicle models.

Anyway, it is time for me to check for some Hotchkis sway bar on the web, so chill out!
