SRT and K&N Improves the Grand Cherokee

I got this article from Auto Spectator while looking for some Jeep and BMW car cover on the web. Check it out.

Jeep brand has recently announced that it will include a new Grand Cherokee model with performance enhancements from Chrysler’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) and K&N Engineering. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 will have a monstrous 6.1-liter engine under its hood.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is also enhanced by high-flow air intake system (63-1555) from K&N Engineering. The K&N high-flow air intake system allows the 6.1-liter engine of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 to have an additional 12horsepower obtained at 5000 RPM. According to K&N Engineering, they have "removed the OE air box and intake and built a larger, by diameter, intake tube to open up the breathing capacity necessary for the 6.1 liter engine to get the full amount of air it needs."

Other enhancements done by K&N Engineering include:

- K&N’s air intake design to provide excellent air filtration and lower restriction
- Large chrome top K&N high flow air filter (RF-1042) installed
- Heat shield assembly is installed into the engine bay
- K&N used one of the largest filters in stock to allow unrestricted air flow and increased dirt capacity
- K&N also incorporated a radius adapter at the entrance to the intake tube
- K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty
